- Each teeth aligner is customized to solve the patient’s specific orthodontic problems and gradually move the teeth into a straighter position.
- The teeth aligners can be easily removed, which means patients will not have to disrupt their eating, drinking and teeth cleaning habits.
- There are generally less dental appointments required for maintenance.
Dr. Sands goes on to discuss the typical price range for Invisalign® treatment, noting that it is about $3,500 to $8,000, depending on the treatment duration and the patient’s specific orthodontic issues.
A follow-up blog post titled, “Invisalign® Candidates and Process,” revealed which dental conditions could be fixed with the clear teeth aligners. For example, patients with overly crowded teeth or gaps may be good candidates for Invisalign® treatment. He says it can also be useful to correct over-, under-, and crossbite issues.
Invisalign® treatment involves a series of customized, clear teeth aligners that the patient can take home. After two weeks of use, one set of teeth aligners is discarded for the next in the series. Each set is slightly modified from the one before it in order to gradually move the teeth into a straighter position. Dr. Sands says the whole process can take anywhere from 9 to 20 months for the best results, and ultimately depends on each patient’s specific needs. He says that, for people who do not want the discomfort and undesired attention often brought on by traditional metal braces, Invisalign® can be a terrific option.
